# Open StudyStash in new tab (Moodle)

> By default, Moodle may display StudyStash inside a small embedded frame within the course page.

This limits the space students have to work in and can make the tool harder to use. Setting StudyStash to open in a new window gives students the full experience and is our recommended configuration.

## How to change the setting

## **Step 1**

In Site administration, open the StudyStash tool configuration. Scroll down to the field labelled **Default launch container**. By default this is set to **Embed, without blocks**.

## **Step 2**

Select the **Default launch container** dropdown to open the list of options, and select **“New window”**.

## **Step 3**

The field should now read **New window**. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select **Save changes**.

  That's it. StudyStash will now open in a new window for all students launching it from Moodle.
