# How can we ensure students don’t mistake StudyStash progress for guaranteed assessment success?

* StudyStash’s formative assessments help students practice content and check understanding, but do not count toward final grades.

* StudyStash is not a grading or assessment tool. Nor is it a replacement for teaching, seminars, or wider reading. It is a Study Support tool & all communication should remain consistent on this.

* The improvement on revision habits StudyStash can develop, alongside highlighting areas students are struggling/excelling have proven to be highly valuable - especially in advance of formative assessments.
