# What defines an 'active student'?

> A student is ‘active’ if they have logged in on 5+ unique days, created 2+ resources in the last term.

**How is ‘average usage’ calculated?**

Active usage refers to the average time students actively spent studying on StudyStash over a 10-week period from Week 1 - creating resources such as notes and flashcards, completing practice tests, or using the learning mode across web and mobile.

**Where do I find this data?**

Your Customer Success Manager will regular send you usage reports, but you can also request them at any point. **An example report looks like the following:**
